Introduction

Currently the MPI für Metallforschung (Stuttgart) is building up a wide energy range multi-purpose beamline at the Synchrotron Radiation Source ANKA in Karlsruhe, 1h drive from Stuttgart. The beamline will allow a variety of experiments like:

• Structural investigations of heterogeneous interfaces and multilayer systems by specular and off-specular reflectivity

• Reaction kinetics

• Surface / interface diffraction experiments

• Grazing incidence experiments

• Single crystal / powder diffractometry
