Public transport from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof (central station) to the Max Planck Institute in Stuttgart-Büsnau

• Take the Underground (S-Bahn) to the station Universität. You can take any of the lines S1, S2, S3 in the direction of Herrenberg, Böblingen, Vaihingen, Flughafen or Filderstadt. (DO NOT GO TO Vaihingen-Enz.! This is different from Vaihingen!)
  
• Get off at station Universität and transfer to bus lines 84, 92, 746, 747 or 748. Busses leave Mo-Fri from 8 a.m.-7.45 p.m. at least once per hour (additional bus service during rush hours).
  
• Get off the bus at station Max-Planck-Institute. The institute is on the left.
  
  or
  
  
• Take the Underground (S-Bahn) to the station Vaihingen (NOT Vaihingen-Enz.!!!). You can take any of the lines S1, S2, S3 in the direction of Herrenberg, Böblingen, Vaihingen, Flughafen oder Filderstadt. (DO NOT GO TO Vaihingen-Enz.! This is different from Vaihingen!)
  
• Get off at station Vaihingen and transfer to bus line 81. Busses leave Mo-Fri from 5.30 a.m. to 12 midnight at least every 20 minutes.
  
• Get off the bus at station Max-Planck-Institute. The institute is on the left.
  

By Car

• Take the A8 or A81.
  
• At Autobahnkreuz Vaihingen (exit 51, Vaihingen) change to A831 in the direction of Stuttgart-Mitte.
  
• Leave the Autobahn at exit Universität.
  
• At the traffic lights on the motorway bridge turn left, direction Universität
  
• Follow Universitätsstrasse, then turn right into Nobelstrasse
  
• At the end of Nobelstrasse, turn right into Büsnauer Strasse
  
• Follow Büsnauer Strasse until you see the Max-Planck-Institutes (Heisenbergstrasse) on the left.
  

By Plane (from Stuttgart Airport)

• From the airport, take lines S2 or S3 (in the direction of Hauptbahnhof (central station)) and get off at station Vaihingen.
  
• Transfer to bus line 81, which leaves Mo-Fri from 5.30 a.m.-12 p.m. at least every 20 minutes
  
• Get off the bus at station Max-Planck-Institute. The institute is on the left.
  
  or
  
  
• From the airport, take lines S2 or S3 (in the direction of Hauptbahnhof (central station)) and get off at station Universität.
  
• Transfer to bus lines 84, 92, 746, 747 or 748, which leave Mo-Fri from 8 a.m.-7.45 p.m. at least once per hour (additional bus service during rush hours).
  
• Get off the bus at station Max-Planck-Institute. The institute is on the left.

• If you come from the airport by car, take the A8 in the direction of Karlsruhe.
  
• At Autobahnkreuz Vaihingen (exit 51, Vaihingen) change to A831 in the direction of Stuttgart-Mitte.

• At the traffic lights on the motorway bridge, turn left in the direction of Universität.
  
• Follow Universitätsstrasse and turn into Nobelstrasse
  
• Follow Nobelstrasse and at its end turn right into Büsnauer Strasse
  
• Follow Büsnauer Strasse until you see the Max-Planck-Institutes (Heisenbergstrasse)
