Positions and Possibilities

The interdisciplinary character of our group requires the skills and point-of-view of biologists, physicists and chemists. Students, Diploma students, Ph.D students and Post-Docs may start a scientific project at any time in the field of biophysical chemistry.

Interdisciplinary PhD studentships in Heidelberg

Two positions for PhD students in physical chemistry and biology, respectively are available in a joint project in the laboratories of Prof Joachim Spatz and Dr Friedrich Frischknecht through funding from the Max Planck Society and the European Research Council. The project investigates the motility of the malaria parasite using reverse genetic approaches, state of the art imaging and a novel tunable gel system for generation of synthetic environments. The candidates should have a strong interest in interdisciplinary research, a will to work as a team and to take on challenges. For details look at the respective web pages of Prof Spatz and Dr Frischknecht and apply to SpatzFrischknechtPhD@gmail.com with a CV, 1 page letter of motivation and 2 reference letters within a single pdf document.
