The Department Spatz is sub-project leader (Dynamics of Cell Architecture) in the Excellence Cluster "Cellular Networks" at the University of Heidelberg. This initiative combines expertises from materials sciences, cell biology, biophysics as well as modelling and simulation with the aim to integrate molecular and biophysical parameters of cell architecture into a picture with high spatial and temporal resolution.
