Cooperation with the University of Würzburg

The Faculty of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Wuerzburg introduced for the winter term 2006/2007 the new graduate program "FOKUS Physik" leading to a Master of Science degree. Scientists from the Departments of Prof. Dosch and Prof. Schütz are collaborating with colleagues of other Max Planck Institutes and the University of Wuerzburg in designing the curriculum.
Within the framework of the Elite Network of Bavaria this strongly research-oriented and streamlined graduate program wants to attract outstanding students of Physics and Nanostructure Engineering. The aim is to introduce
these studious and highly motivated students as soon as possible to today's excellence in research. Due to the intensive and individual tutoring as well as the modular structure of the curriculum, the elite graduate program allows students to graduate after a maximum of eight semesters.
